The latest Golf Magazine top 100 courses in the world have been announced to the public this month through the highly respected American magazine "Golf Magazine" This is an international publication and the rankings of Irish courses is an honour in terms of this USA-dominated ranking. Our magnificent seven are Royal Co Down, Royal Portrush Dunluce, Ballybunion Old, Lahinch, Portmarnock Old, European Club, and Waterville, a new entry. Compared with the 2007 rankings, the Irish clubs movement balanced, and that's good considering the huge amount of international competition that's available.

The overall Top 100 as presented by Golf Magazine reflects favourably on the old, traditional layouts, still able to hold there own against golfers despite the huge advances in clubs, balls and equipment
