My new friend Mary here at the Brookhaven House in Waterville tells me that you are a real person and a nice one at that.  I thought so, too.

I played a tough day today at Waterville.  Lots of wind and rain.  But, that is what I expected and had been very lucky on the weather up to now.

With only a round or two to go, I wanted to tell you how much I appreciate your help.  It has been a great trip!  My next one will be more simple as I plan to play two rounds each at my two favorites: Tralee and Adare.  Lord have mercy those are beautiful courses!

But, I cannot complain about any.  Even Ring of Kerry, suited me fine.  It was filled with local people and to me, that is the best.  They were so friendly and welcoming and the course reminded me of the many local courses I had played over my years of travel to various parts of the world. If I bring my wife on my next trip, that would be a special area to stay an extra day or two.  It was much like a beloved course in Akoroa, New Zealand. I am glad I took the cart!

So, I raise a pint to you and your team. Great vacation!  I will write a little on each place perhaps on the plane home, but every B&B and every course was great.  .

I just wanted to drop you a note to thank you for your help in making our visit to Ireland a successful fun trip.  I want to say a special thank you for your request for good weather.  We did not have a drop of rain over our 5 rounds of golf.

All the golf courses were wonderful and very accommodating and friendly.  All courses had caddies for us and took good care of us.

I especially want to point out the great work our driver did.  He was very helpful and we enjoyed our time with him.  I would recommend him highly.

We thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of our trip. The hotel, the golf courses, Bryan our driver and the hospitality was top class. If there was direct flights from Scandinavia to either Shannon, Kerry or Cork then I am sure your trips would be a great success with people from Denmark, Sweden and Norway.

I have no doubt some of us will return to the South West of Ireland, and you will of course be our first point of contract.

Thank you both for your efforts to make the golf trip to Ireland for me and my friends a total success. From the moment we arrived and were met by our driver (Kerry Coaches) we knew we made the right choice. At every property and golf course the staff was waiting for us and provided VIP service – due to the planning done by SWING. Tom was a fountain of information, both current and historical, and made even the long bus rides a fun opportunity to learn more about Ireland.

It is hard to say that one course was better than another but we all agreed that they were all fabulous. Our finale at Old Head was magnificent – hardly anybody could believe how breathtakingly beautiful the vistas were.

While I am sorry we did not get a chance to meet Eileen it was great fun to have Brendan spend some time with us in The Killarney Park. Oh yeah, the weather was great all week. My friends chastised me each day for having them pack extra waterproof clothes and shoes. Most guys played in shorts all week.

You have created 8 ambassadors for SWING and we will never forget what turned out To be the trip of a lifetime.

Once again, thank you for your great works of mercy and magic on this our 17^th  year!  You always seem to put us at the right place, at the right time! Yesterday, when we returned home, one of the guys sent us a great assessment of  the trip. He wrote, “. . . I spent the better part of last night recalling many of the great moments of the last week!  I was very careful in telling my wife how much fun I had, in fear that she would conclude that I would rather spend 6 days with you guys, than her.  Truth is, if the last 6 days are anything close to what heaven is like, I might have to start attending daily Mass!”

Hi Eileen – It was a fantastic trip and it was great to see you at Tralee!  I brought the course to its knees on Tuesday with an 84, but it took it’s revenge on Friday, throwing me a 94!  That’s golf and life. Btw, the young lady harpist, Lorraine, was excellent. I think we made her year –  she got a lot of tips.

We had a great trip and the weather was incredible. Pat, our driver, made the trip even better, he was excellent in all phases, keeping us “herded” and on time and some remarkable suggestions on restaurants. He is truly an asset to SWING and you should probably request him from Kerry Coaches as often as possible.

It was a wonderful experience and I think all of us would agree that we can’t wait to do it again.

You were a pleasure to deal without throughout the planning process which made me, as the trip “coordinator” on this side of the pond, feel very comfortable and assured me that I had made the right decision to go with SWING as opposed to the myriad of other golf planners.

The accommodations were perfect for our group of eight.  We especially enjoyed the Malton Hotel in Killarney for its ambience and location…and service.

Reflections on Ireland

We have traveled to many places and had some great times but our recent travels in Ireland far surpass them all!  The Irish people- so proud of their country and their heritage; so warm and helpful…. Listening to our story and sharing theirs. So often as we travel and time passes we become weary and tire of being away from home and we are ready to go home- not so with Ireland.  Pat said often: “I am not ready for it to be over.”

So many varies sights to see- wonderful small towns such as Macroom, Kenmare, Cobh;  stone churches everywhere like the Abby in Adare; castles like the Blarney Castle to visit or just see from  a distance; the cliffs of Mohrer and the Burren; the parks of Dublin. Country roads so narrow and yet revealing the Ireland we so wanted to see so much- yes we lost our way and the GPS failed us but in doing so we found ourselves in the Ireland we wanted to see!  Trinity College and Kalmahain Gaol, cathedrals from the ages and the many pubs;  Guiness, Jamison and the Temple Bar area- all in Dublin.   Ross Castle, Killarney National Park, Muckross House, the Ring of Kerry were among the highlights of our stay in Killarney.

Superb accommodations….. Beautiful and tasteful décor, warm gracious staff, great breakfasts added to our daily experience and comfort. Excellent locations near fun things to do and see… The Malton probably the most luxurious hotel we have experienced… Trinity Capital was in the very heart of Dublin and the rainbow on the last day in the Vaughan Lodge in Lahinch capped off a wonderful experience.

Effective scheduling… tee times work well….. Ample drive time from Killarney to the courses- and an American driving on the left side of the highway needed ample time!

Fantastic golf…. Memorable experience…. Breathtaking scenery from each course- either the Irish countryside or the ocean with people having fun in the water. Each hole offered a new challenge and another photo to take! Caddies made the golf experience so much more pleasant- knowledgeable friendly supportive people

Everybody at www.swinggolfireland.com were so kind and patient – answering a myriad of questions about golf, hotels, driving in Ireland, local ground transportation and so many topics. Really a professional group that I would strongly urge anyone travelling to Ireland to seek their assistance- it was like the difference between playing a new course alone stumbling upon the course’s difficulties or having a well experienced caddie to guide you and offer kind assistance that really enhances your game that day- so it is with www.swinggolfireland.com.

While we planned the trip to Ireland with the mindset that this would be a once in a lifetime experience- now having been there I am not sure that will be true.

Our Ireland trip went perfectly. My son and I enjoyed each of the three unique and splendid golf courses. Everyone was very friendly and welcoming. Both my son and I agreed that Tralee was the best experience probably due to our excellent caddie Sean.

The weather was spectacular only to be out done by the courses and people.

I met this party at Killarney Royal hotel where they informed they had a great trip. They were delighted with the courses they played especially Ballybunion and Tralee.Overall they felt they had a great experience in the South West of Ireland.

We are safely (and sadly) back from Ireland.  We had an incredible time and had the benefit of great weather too.  I have to thank you so much.  Both hotels were incredible and so different (I will say the Hotel Europe was a favorite with the kids, they rode horses every day and went wild for the indoor/outdoor pool).

Killarney is a magical little town, we definitely plan to visit again — although I think I gained a stone from all that Murphy’s Ice Cream!

The grounds at Dromoland are extraordinary.  My kids loved riding around on bikes and playing tennis at any hour (we did not expect it to stay light out until 10:00pm!).  We had a wonderful time in Clare exploring the Cliffs of Moher and the Burren (I personally enjoyed the perfumery)

Dear SWING

now we are back We like to say thank you for this wonderful prize. The driving was a little exhausting (1000 km), but this was, of course, not your fault.
Old Head was an amazing experience. Adare Manor was heaven on earth. We had a delicious 8-course dinner there. The Malton Hotel was a very good choice, very central in the city.
We had luck with the weather, only the last two holes in Killarney where bad.
Thank you again and we hope to travel with your company again in the future. I guess you will get better prices especially in the hotels than I could get.
