Castlerock Golf Club is situated in the seaside village of Castlerock, which lies approximately 5 miles west of the town of Coleraine on the North Coast of Northern Ireland. It is a Ben Sayers designed links course set among rolling sand dunes. The Championship Mussenden Course is a par 73.

The best-known hole is the fourth, called the Leg o’Mutton, a 200-yard par-3 with a railway line to the right, a stream to the left and a raised green. Castlerock is also home to the newer Bann Links – a full-length, nine-hole course that plays on some of the club’s finest duneland.

What to See and Do

Castlerock is located on the Causeway Costal Route. This 120-mile drive is peppered with unique attractions and idyllic towns and villages all set against some of the world’s most dramatic and stunning scenery.  A spectacular road trip that must be witnessed to be believed.

The course is less than 20 miles from the village of Bushmills, which houses Dunluce Castle. Thought to have been first built sometime in the 13th century by the powerful Irish noble and 2nd Earl of Ulster Richard Óg de Burgh, Dunluce Castle sits on the edge of Basalt with surrounding steep drops at each side.  The first record of the Castle is being in the hands of McQuillan family in 1513 before it was seized by McDonnell Clan in 1550 during a particularly violent and bloody era. The Castle’s vibrant and often turbulent history can be explored by visitors through an audio-visual tour.
