The Course

Portmarnock Links is situated just outside the village of Portmarnock, approximately 10 miles northeast of Dublin City.  This championship links covers 180 acres of classic terrain and is part of the Portmarnock Hotel and Golf Links, a superb 4-star facility that was once the abode of the Jameson whiskey family.

Widely recognised as one of Ireland’s premier golf resorts, the links course takes full advantage of a natural setting. It combines the charm of a traditional layout with the challenge of the modern game. The use of natural dunes, elevated tees and greens, acutely angled doglegs and almost 100 bunkers, test even the most accomplished golfers.

What to See and Do

As Portmarnock is located less than 15km from Dublin City Centre there is an abundance of options to fill your non-golfing time. From the Guinness Storehouse to Kilmainham Gaol, or Dublin Zoo to the National Aquatic Centre, there is something for everybody.

Pictured is Kilmainham Gaol, which is one of the largest unoccupied gaols in Europe. The gaol centred in some of the most heroic and tragic events in Ireland’s emergence as a modern nation from 1780’s to the 1920’s. Attractions include a major exhibition detailing the political and penal history of the prison and its restoration. A tour of the prison includes an audio-visual show.
