Narin & Portnoo golf course is situated in a beautiful seaside resort setting in southwest Donegal.

Narin & Portnoo is considered one of the finest natural and scenic 18-hole links courses in Ireland. Opened in 1930, it is engagingly old fashioned with a meandering route over and around the sand dunes. The course has recently been re-developed and the new par 73 layout offers a range of teeing areas and challenges to suit all golfers.

In recent years, new ownership engaged renowned golf architects Gil Hanse and Jim Wagner to re-establish the classic features that made Narin & Portnoo so compelling. The result is a remarkable transformation—an eminently walkable Irish links that is generating raves from visiting golfers and critics alike.

Highlights

Gil Hanse has said of the course “It has a scale that ranges from large-scale dunes down to the smallest, nuanced rolls in the ground and that variety will provide countless opportunities for our imagination and the play of the course.”

Food & Drink

The Links Restaurant at Narin & Portnoo golf course offers a warm welcome to visiting golfers. It’s a modern restaurant with a bar open to both the public and golfers. The atmosphere alone will make you want to linger for a pint or even a bite to eat after you tackle the links course.
