Rosapenna Golf Resort in Northern Donegal consists of three golf courses; The Old, Sandy Hills and the recently opened St Patrick’s.

The Old Course at Rosapenna

Rosapenna Old Course takes advantage of natural terrain to provide a classic links golf challenge. The golf course runs between the ocean and the dunes in what is known locally as ‘The Valley’.

Sandy Hills Links

Sandy Hills is in many ways the ideal modern links. Intended for the serious golfer, its narrow fairways appear tough to hit from the tee, but the landing areas sculpted from the dunes are deceptively wide. Measuring a hefty 7,255 yards from the tips, Sandy Hills was designed with championship play in mind.

St Patrick’s Golf Links

The third course in the Rosapenna Golf Resort is The St Patrick’s Links by Tom Doak. It’s located in the dunes just south of the existing Old Tom Morris Links and Sandy Hills Links. It was formerly a 36-hole layout with one links course designed by Eddie Hackett and the other by Joanne O’Haire.

St Patrick’s sits on the most magnificent piece of linksland. Here you will find huge scale, dramatic West Coast of Ireland scenery, and enough variety to present a real diversity of golf holes.

The routing takes golfers on an adventure through huge dunes situated high above Sheephaven Bay, along the coast, then back over some more gentle dunes… and that’s just the front nine!

With plenty of width and an eclectic mix of naturalised bunkers, you will find the course unlike anything you have played before.

Highlights

Food & Drink

The Vardon Restaurant was named in honour of the great Harry Vardon, winner of a record six Open Championship titles and the 1900 US Open at Chicago Golf Club.

Things to do

Visit the historic Fanad Head Lighthouse built after the HMS Frigate Saldanha (British Naval Ship) was wrecked off the northern coast in December 1811, with the only survivor being the ship’s parrot.

We also recommend visiting one of the North Coast’s most iconic attractions, Europe’s highest marine cliffs at Sliabh Liag (Slieve League) Cliffs. Here you can witness outstanding scenic views of imposing mountains, picturesque islands and beautiful bays along some of the most dramatic landscape in Europe.
