The on-going covid-19 pandemic has caused change and disruption to all our lives. Various short to medium term travel restrictions across the world mean that discerning golfers will not have the opportunity to experience our beautiful golf courses and surrounding sites of the South West of Ireland for the coming months. Despite this setback South West Ireland Golf are working with our many service providers and valued customers each day to come to arrangements that guarantee satisfaction for all concerned. With the help of our member courses we have already been able to move or reschedule tours into to 2021 and beyond while always putting the safety and happiness of our customers first.
We are committed to maintaining this same approach which has seen us enjoy 33 distinguished years in business before this pandemic and will hopefully continue to do so long after this testing time has passed.
It may be difficult to look too far forward at this stage, but we are sure there will pent up desires to travel once this episode ends. If you would like the opportunity to take your mind off everything currently taking place and look at planning a trip in 2021 or later while getting immersed in one of the world’s greatest golf destinations, please feel free to contact info@Swinggolfireland.com today and we would be delighted to assist you.
Stay safe and healthy and together we will beat this virus and get back to normality hopefully sooner rather than later.

3 Round Saver: Lahinch Old & Castle, Dromoland
Lahinch founded in 1892 is one of the oldest golf clubs in Ireland and the Old Course is one of the most respected links courses in the world. It sits right on the Atlantic coastline on the South West Coast of Ireland in county Clare. Lahinch Golf Club has two courses the Castle Course and the Old Course. The Old Course is frequently referred to as the ‘Saint Andrews of Ireland’ as it looks out on the ever-changing Atlantic Ocean. It is a classic links course with rolling dunes and fairways and typical MacKenzie greens. There isn’t a mundane shot on the entire golf course, and your jaw will often drop at the views. Undulating fairways, heavily guarded greens and blind shots are among Lahinch’s challenges. “Lahinch will make the finest and most popular course that I, or I believe anyone else, ever constructed.” Dr. Alastair Mackenzie

Lahinch Castle Course was founded in 1963 and it sits right on the Atlantic coastline on the South West Coast of Ireland in County Clare. Lahinch Golf Club has two courses the Castle Course and the Old Course. The Castle Course is a less formidable challenge then the Old Course, however it still presents its own brand of toughness and cleverly positioned bunkers and water hazards to trap the unsuspecting golfer. Castle Course is a flatter links named for the ruins of a nearby castle tower that stands to the northern end of the property.

Dromoland Golf Club was set up in 1962 on the grounds of the Dromoland Castle. Since then it has catered to many of the best personalities and golfers around. In 2003, the Dromoland golf course was redesigned to the highest standards by Joe Carr and Ron Kirby. It is situated on 400 unspoilt acres of lush wooded parkland enhanced by the gently flowing River Rine which becomes a feature for three of the many beautiful holes on the course.. You could say that the new look course is Clare’s answer to Augusta and it’s been elevated to premier status within Irish golfing circles. In 2006 a new Golf Academy was added to the course. The greens in this are the same Creeping Bent grass that is used out on the course so make your mistakes here. Between the facilities and the spectacular views that you will see around the course this will be a golfing experience that you are unlikely to forget too soon.
